Welcome! Let me start off by introducing myself. My name is Mrs. Kayla Bellflowers and I will be your instructor for this course. I received my Bachelor's degree from Francis Marion University in Middle Level Education, and I am currently pursuing a degree in Instructional Technology from Coastal Carolina University.
This class will last for 36 weeks, and you will find a tentative class outline below. During that time, we will learn about the settlement of South Carolina by native Americans and Europeans, South Carolina's role in the American Revolution and Civil War, the Progressive Era, the impact of World War I and World War II on South Carolina, and South Carolina today. In those 36 weeks, we will complete many projects, quizzes, and tests, all online. We will also complete the South Carolina PASS test at the beginning of May.
Many of you were taught South Carolina History in third grade. However, this course will be more in depth and we will look at more specific facts than you did then. As stated before, this class is fully online. Therefore, if you need to contact me, I can be reached at [email protected]. I check my e-mail daily and am available if you need me. Good Luck this year!!!!

Course Requirements
- Follow all rules of "netiquette." I require that you treat all classmates and myself with the same respect that you would like to be shown.
- Complete all assignments, which may include projects, quizzes, discussions, and tests.
- Complete all required readings that are assigned. They are assigned to help you, not to be ignored.
- Spend extra time studying and preparing for assessments.
- Attempt all discussions and assignments that are assigned.
- Manage your time wisely. Due dates are set for each assignment. Make sure that you are allowing yourself plenty of time to complete them before the given due date.
Delivery
All course work will be delivered online in the Edmodo learning system and this Weebly site, and it will be structured in modules. Course work will be delivered on a weekly basis to the system and will be assigned a given due date.
Workload
The estimated workload for this course is ten hours per week. In a typical face-to-face classroom, the students would be with the teacher for a minimum of one hour per day or five hours per week, not including time spent studying at home. Therefore, considering that all reading and homework will be completed on your own time, you should plan to spend about ten hours per week working on course work.
