Prerequisites:
The requirements for this course are that you must be an Eighth grade student based on your performance in prior grades. All records must indicate that you are eligible to complete Eighth grade course work.
Description:
Eighth grade social studies focuses on the history of South Carolina and the role our state played in the development of the United States. The course begins with the colonization of South Carolina and continues with the American Revolution and birth of our nation. Students then study Civil War and Reconstruction, and then examine our state’s progress through the 19th and 20th centuries.
Intended Audience:
Eighth grade students who are looking to complete the state required Social Studies curriculum to be promoted to high school
